Aida Hikoichi ...

is a bright and chirpy, nosy and gushy fellow. Perfect for his ambition which I suppose is to become a journalist. He is garrulous and very quick on the response. This is probably because he does not think too much before he speaks. And he is generally unshuttable (with regards to his mouth). If one has to summarise Aida in one word, it has to be 'hyperactive'.
But no character, no matter how two-dimensional, should be as simple as a word. Although talking without thinking brings forth a lot of nonsense, it does not mean the person is incapable of rational thoughts. Aida is a good example. With his acute perceptiveness and sensitivity, he would not only make a good journalist but also an excellent friend. He tends to be rather emotional and others may be overwhelmed by the resulting outpourings which resemble a reservoir breaking its dam. A big saving grace is his kind, sympathetic and helpful nature.
Aida has no qualms about heaping praises on others regardless of whether the person deserves that much. It makes one wonder if he is a hypocrite. But most of the time, his sheer enthusiasm and sincerity comes through and one is lead to believe that he is true.
Just as he is fast at giving compliments, Aida is equally quick at bearing grudges. And though he is not exactly venomous, he does take certain pains to step very hard on his enemies' tails. One efficient way of getting into his black books is by laughing at his lack of height. He is quite touchy about it.
