exudes a confidence which is masked by his genteel and quiet demeanour. He is a rare character in 'Slam Dunk' who is confident and proud without being arrogant and self-opinionated. His confidence maybe partly due to his faith in the virtues of hard work and perseverance. I guess he is the best example of his belief that hard work would be rewarded. 
            Although he seems a serious person, Jin tolerates nonsense rather well. In fact, he was often amused by Kiyota Nobunaga's antics. He is quite receptive of people different from himself and even appreciates their differences.  
            Jin is mild-natured and very patient. Looking at all his traits, it seems that he would make a very good father. (Editor: Hmm… …) 
            Anyway, the seventeen years old Jin Soichiro is a polite boy. As he pass through many more, he would probably become the self-collected gentleman that we only see shadows of in 'Slam Dunk'.
